Delaware Knights Going to Spain
The Delaware Knights boys team made up of U14 & U15 (in fall 2012) players played in the Donosti Cup, Spain this past summer 2012.
This international tournament has 387 teams registered this year, with 7.446 players, from 23 countries. The tournament was played July 2nd – 7th, in and around the Anoeta Stadium

(home of the Spanish professional team Real Sociedad). The tournament begins with an opening ceremony where teams from different countries parade the Anoeta Stadium, World Cup style. Teams play the first 4 game in a preliminary league play organized into groups similar to the world cup. Qualifying teams then move on to the play-off round.
At an international level, there will be teams from the five continents. Spain will have the most teams with 52, followed by France with 42 teams. The other countries in the tournament are Portugal, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Venezuela, Colombia, El Salvador, Argentina, Uganda, Cameroun, Senegal, The Congo, Sahara Occidental, Nigeria, Ukraine and Australia.
A group of 28 including players, coaches, family, and siblings from Delaware left on June 28th and returned on July 11th. During the trip the players experience, Madrid, the tournament in San Sebastian, Pamplona (running of the bulls) and Barcelona.
